Fueled by technology and changing economies, typical construction is undergoing a transformation not seen since the Industrial Revolution. Virtual Design & Construction is overturning traditional building construction structure. This process is constantly challenging construction teams to deliver successful projects despite tight budgets, limited manpower, accelerated schedules, and limited or conflicting information.

The use of Building Information Models (BIM) allows CalArr’s team to assist in the creation, modification, analysis, and optimization during the entire design and construction process. This technology aids in collision detection which in turn increases productivity, improves the quality of design, and improves communication through documentation, which allows participants in the building process to mold the client’s vision into reality.

The process of collaborating with and involving clients, construction partners, and design teams together throughout an entire project to produce detailed information for the generation and management of 3D digital representation of physical and functional characteristics of that project.

CalArr Consulting’s network of engineers and designs dedicates themselves to using the BIM process to coordinate the location of building systems to save time and money during the construction process. In working closely with our project team (client, construction partners, designers) it allows us to ensure your construction visualization and methods are reflected in the models for a better representation of the project’s final vision.


Design Phase

Coordination and modeling partnership with the Design team to create a Collaborative BIM enabled model. We help provided the firm foundation for a productive and optimized construction project. The model created at this stage puts the owner and contractors in a position for an in depth knowledge of the 3D (Visualization), 4D (time/scheduling) and the 5D (cost/material quantities) aspects of the project.



Conversion of Engineer’s 2D drawings into a 3D representation of the project to use as a tool for discussions, clarifications, and problem solving. This also fosters the concept of teamwork on the project. Beginning the sharing and collaboration of data at this stage between project team members will lead to benefits that’s last well throughout the construction phase.



Our team members work side by side with the Contractors to produce installation drawings for their construction team in the field. This process increases clarifications of instructions to labor workers, in turn minimizing risk and need for rework. With this the Contractor can focus on quality of materials and installation to increase the confidence the client has in the prime contractor.



The Contractor’s redlines, shop drawings, and installation drawings are converted into a 3D representation of the final construction. These documents are then turned over to the building owner for their use in Facility Management.
